3 ways to surface church trends and make better ministry decisions

Let’s get real about church data. We have a lot of it to filter through, but it is often a challenge to understand what it is telling us about our ministry and the people in it. With that in mind, I want to share some practical ways you can leverage the data in Church Community Builder to surface trends and make informed decisions. First I’d like to share a brief video.

Three trend reports worth paying attention to

  1. Attendance reports. These show you weekly or monthly total numbers by attendance grouping. Use this data to assess strategy for specific programs, services, and/or small groups.
  2. Giving reports. These help you monitor the trends of both general giving patterns and specific appeals.
  3. Volunteer reports. These can surface vital information on each person who fills a volunteer position in your church. You can also gain clarity on just how many people are actively serving.

Each of these reports surfaces data you can use to identify trends in your church. This helps you draw conclusions about what is working, where areas of weakness may exist, and whether you are actually achieving your ministry objectives.

How are you currently using technology and reports to make better decisions about your ministry?
