Test Emails Being Sent to Church Community Builder Customers

Update: October 9, 2015. 3:25pm (MDT): The emails have ceased and the issue is being resolved to prevent this from happening again. Rest assured that neither our database nor any of your churches' systems has been compromised, as this was the result of human error on our part. Please accept our sincere apology for this incident.

Update: Oct 8, 2015, 7:27pm (MDT): Unfortunately, our engineers have discovered there is no way for them to clear out the emails that are already queued up to send, so you and other members of your church may continue to receive these emails tonight.

As Free mentioned in the comments, we have confirmed that this issue only affected our Church Community Builder Intranet, not your individual church databases. That means if you were ever in our intranet through a support ticket, sales call, billing contact, or as the MA of the church, you have received the email. This has even gone so far as to affect former customers and prospects.

Again, we sincerely apologize for and are embarassed by this mistake. We will be sending one final email out to everyone who was affected tomorrow to let them know what happened.

Update: Oct 8, 2015, 6:00pm (MDT): While we believe we discovered the source of the emails being sent and stopped new ones from being initiated, there is still a large queue of pending emails queued up to be sent, so you may continue to receive emails tonight. Our engineers are currently working to clear out the email backlog so the ones queued up do not send.

Update: Oct 8, 2015, 4:22pm (MDT): Our engineers believe they identified the problem and reverted a commit from earlier this morning they believe to be the culprit. No more erroneous emails should sent from our system today. We apologize again for the nuisance this caused.

We apologize if you received an email from our system today with the subject line, "TEST - Set Up Your Site!" Those emails were sent in error and they can be disregarded.

We know some people are still receiving these emails, and some people have received multiple copies of this message. Our engineers are currently investigating the cause of the issue, and will get it stopped as soon as possible. We will post back here with any updates.
