Software Outage (Thursday, March 17)

On March 17th, 2016 at approximately 4:24pm MDT Church Community Builder was the target of a Distributed Denial of Service attack. Our monitoring systems alerted our engineers to the issue, and we immediately took action and tweeted to our @CCBTech Twitter account that we were aware of the problem.

At 4:32pm MDT the network attack directed roughly 50,000 connections per second from multiple locations to one of our IP addresses. The network hardware intercepted the the attack, resulting in an interruption of service.

At 4:51pm MDT the security hardware removed the ban on traffic to our IP as the attack had subsided and service levels were restored to normal. We are confident that there was no unauthorized access of data and that the sole purpose of this attack was to cause service interruptions.

While we can not mitigate every attempt at causing service disruptions, Church Community Builder is committed to the effort of protecting and providing exceptional uptime for our church partners.
